Brett Ostrow was born and raised in New Jersey, where his fascination with engines first began. What started as a love for automobiles soon evolved into a deep passion for boats and the maritime world. Growing up, Brett spent summers traveling along the East Coast with his family, visiting coastal waterfronts and beach destinations. These experiences sparked his interest in the sea. During his school years, he immersed himself in marine science and recreational boating programs, such as marine biology exploration, boating safety, and the oceanographic odyssey course. These hands-on experiences, which included boating, fishing, and raising fish in a lab environment, solidified his love for the water. His high school even owned a sport fishing vessel, giving him the opportunity to participate in field trips along the Hudson River, where his passion for a maritime career truly began to take shape.

After high school, Brett moved to Florida to study business. Upon graduating, he relocated to Indiana, where he entered the workforce as a sales broker for a midwestern regional sales team, representing over 150 manufacturers. During this time, Brett honed his skills in product representation, multitasking, and building relationships with customers across the state. In addition to his sales role, Brett opened an independent auto dealership, further refining his expertise in business and customer service.

However, Brett soon realized that his heart belonged near the water. After a few years in Indiana, he and his family made the decision to relocate to Florida, seeking the warm weather and ocean lifestyle. Settling in Fort Lauderdale, Brett continued his auto dealership while transitioning into the maritime industry. Introduced to the world of yachts by a fellow captain, Brett began working part-time as a Mate, learning the intricacies of the boating world. This passion led him to pursue and earn his U.S. Coast Guard 100-Ton Master Captain’s License.

Today, Brett is a dedicated yacht broker with a wealth of experience in both sales and maritime industries. His background and diverse skill set make him the ideal partner for anyone looking to buy or sell their next vessel. Known for his attention to detail, integrity, and long-term relationships built on trust, Brett stands behind his word and provides clients with personalized service. In addition to his yacht brokerage services, he owns a yacht management company, offering comprehensive support for all his clients’ boating needs. Brett now lives with his family in Key Largo, Florida, where they enjoy life on the water every day. Brett is passionate about raising his children near the ocean, teaching them everything he knows about boating. His 13-year-old daughter, Brooklyn, can often be found by his side Bayside, learning to drive and navigate her Cape Horn. Brooklyn is also open-water scuba certified and dives monthly with her school, continuing the family’s deep connection to the sea.

When not working, Brett spends his spare time with his wife and three children, embracing the South Florida lifestyle and the endless waterways that surround them. Whether it’s boating, diving, or participating in his children’s activities, Brett’s love for the water is ever-present in both his personal and professional life.
